J.Lo’s return to American Idol makes ex Diddy turn down judge job

New York, August 22: Sean (Diddy) Combs has reportedly turned down the offer to judge the upcoming 13th season of American Idol, as his former girlfriend Jennifer Lopez is set to return to the show.

The ‘Last Night’ hitmaker didn’t want to share the judging panel with his former flame and also wanted to stay clear of Benny Media, who is the rapper’s former manager, the New York Daily News reported.

A source told Us Magazine that Combs had his eyes on the third judging spot for the reality-singing competition, until Lopez stepped in to make her big comeback.

The insider has revealed that the 43-year-old hip-hop mogul felt that it was a “her or me” situation for him.

Comb’s rep has said that it was “not true” as the rapper’s decision to turn down “Idol” had nothing to do with Lopez or Medina.

Lopez and Combs dated from 1999 to 2001.

Earlier, Kanye West had reportedly turned down the judging gig, as he feared it would have tarnished his reputation and street cred. (ANI)
