INDEPENDENCE DAY -A DAY TO CELEBRATE OUR FREEDOM & TO
REMEMBER OUR GREAT LEADERS ABOUT THEIR ROLE IN FREEDOM
MOVEMENT.

The Prime Ministers address to the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort is always
awaited as it unfolds the achievements and future goals of the government. We have
observed for  more than three decades, the PM’s speech on Independence day has
political overtones. Gujarat Chief Minister  Mr.Narendra Modi had also addressed
the people of this great country if not, from Red Fort, but from a college in Bhuj
as an elected Chief Minister.

The Congress Party has criticised Mr.Modi for  taking on the PM on various issues
on Independence Day. Does it mean that Chief Ministers have no right to comment
on PM’s speech on Independence Day? As PM is the leader of a majority party, he
tells the nation about  government’s policies & achievements and the Chief
Minister’s have also got the right to talk about their achievements and the
shortcomings of the central government of which PM is the CEO.

India is a democratic country and the people of India has the constitutional right
to comment, criticise, analyse, & dissect PM’s speech whether political or on
economic issues.
